#Veenkloosterbos - Fogelsanghstate Located next to the almost 400-year-old Fogelsangh State, the is forest has become an attraction with a special past. Until the closure of the Lauwerszee, the Veenkloosterbos was the northernmost forest in the Netherlands. Around 1840, it was laid out in the English landscape style. The winding paths, ponds, mystical bridges and, of course, the state make you feel as if you are walking by the country houses of the nobility in Britain. The garden has special follies, unusual plants and some >200-year-old beeches and oaks.
